Urban Craft Uprising Summer Show 2019
Urban Craft Uprising Summer Show
Saturday, June 22nd – Sunday, June 23rd | Booth Fee: $350 for 5′ x 10′ OR $450 for 10′ x 10′
This will be our 11th year of our big Summer Show! We really love this event and are excited that summers in Seattle bring such wonderful crowds of tourists that we can market this show to the city’s visitors as well as its die-hard fans. Because we know that summer shows will never bring in the massive sales that you’ll see at the winter holiday shows, we run our annual Wholesale Event in conjunction with the weekend. You can vend at the weekend retail AND wholesale event, weekend only, OR wholesale only if that’s the part of your business you’re really wanting to focus on. There’s something for everyone!
Note: We have changed the weekend of our Summer Show so that it no longer overlaps with Pride. We realize this is a very busy weekend in the city and we hope that this change will create a better opportunity for more fans to come out to the show!
- Our Wholesale Show will take place the following day, Monday, June 24th
- Weekend vendors may stay and vend at the wholesale show for an additional $75
- Vendors who wish to vend at the wholesale show ONLY may do so for $175/$275
- This event is held at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall
I really enjoyed preview night…It was steadily busy for me but not too crazy, so I could enjoy talking to customers more. It was my first holiday show with UCU and although I’ve heard how busy it is I wasn’t fully prepared for how crazy busy the rest of the weekend would be. Saturday especially was kind of a whirlwind. But I have to say that your show is so well run and the volunteers were great. I had some help from friends here and there and my daughter but not a ton. But no matter how crowded it was your volunteers were great at checking in once a while to see if I needed bathroom breaks or anything.
This was the best organized show I have done (out of probably 50 different shows I have done over the last 12 years I have vended.)
[My favorite memory was] All of it! The best run event I’ve been a part of. Customers were happy, vendors were in great spirits, and the volunteers were always around when you needed them. Honored to be a part of the Winter UCU event!
The information you provided leading up to the show was thorough and well organized. I really benefited from and was reassured by the helpful tips in the vendor newsletters. Thank you for running such a well organized and well attended show!
The entire weekend was my favorite, yes? I did have a great moment with a shopper I met at Issaquah Salmon Days. She showed up to UCU with her girlfriends, wine in hand & several shopping bags:) She came on Friday because I promised her it would be amazing & she was SO happy she did! I feel like I earned her trust at that moment & gained a longtime customer. Also, I had amazing booth neighbors! So many many great moments helping each other out & celebrating during pack up on Sunday. Every year I get to do this show I leave feeling like I’ve made new friends & expanded my community.
I was a new vendor and I loved how the customers were super excited to see my Crafty goodies! They freaked out over the cacti and succulents it was the best!! I have never done a show in Seattle before and I definitely felt the love that Seattle gives to local handmade artisans!I was a new vendor and I loved how the customers were super excited to see my Crafty goodies! [My favorite moment was] realizing that I have a product that people want. I had customers tell me they came to the show for me. That’s insane! I also heard many customers say they were only buying local handmade this year. The talent of artists at this show is above and beyond. It warms my heart to be around so many creative amazing people.
I’m sure you guys hear this a ton, but what an amazing show you put together year after year, it’s organized and the people that attend are amazing and so supportive of handmade, kind of like a holiday gift to vendors. I was so impressed by the variety this year and quality of everyone’s work. Sometimes at other shows, I feel like there’s a huge focus on making sure price points stay within a certain area – sometimes to the detriment of what is getting shown – and I really noticed this year that there was a huge variety in what people were making, price points, presentation, etc. but consistently it was interesting and beautiful work. I imagine that’s a hard thing to accomplish, but wow.
It was one of the best shows we have ever participated in and hands-down this is the MOST well-organized show. I love how you provide information for both the novice and expert vendor; you covered all bases and provided thorough and helpful information. It was outstanding at every moment. Having volunteers from the point of load-in and to help cover the booths during the show was so helpful. Thank you for a great show!
[My favorite memory was the] new milestones! I can’t pick one favorite moment: beating my previous sales record, getting my first wholesale order, being featured on the Design Milk IG page (presumably due to UCU’s promotion), and of course, talking with customers who were purchasing my kits as a means of self-care or self-discovery. It was rewarding to be able to connect my months of creative work with the customers who would ultimately reap the biggest benefits.
