Urban Craft Uprising Summer Show 2019
Urban Craft Uprising Summer Show
Saturday, June 22nd – Sunday, June 23rd | Booth Fee: $350 for 5′ x 10′ OR $450 for 10′ x 10′
This will be our 11th year of our big Summer Show! We really love this event and are excited that summers in Seattle bring such wonderful crowds of tourists that we can market this show to the city’s visitors as well as its die-hard fans. Because we know that summer shows will never bring in the massive sales that you’ll see at the winter holiday shows, we run our annual Wholesale Event in conjunction with the weekend. You can vend at the weekend retail AND wholesale event, weekend only, OR wholesale only if that’s the part of your business you’re really wanting to focus on. There’s something for everyone!
Note: We have changed the weekend of our Summer Show so that it no longer overlaps with Pride. We realize this is a very busy weekend in the city and we hope that this change will create a better opportunity for more fans to come out to the show!
- Our Wholesale Show will take place the following day, Monday, June 24th
- Weekend vendors may stay and vend at the wholesale show for an additional $75
- Vendors who wish to vend at the wholesale show ONLY may do so for $175/$225
- This event is held at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall
- Tables/electricity ARE available to rent for an additional charge.
We were a first time vendor at UCU and were super impressed with its fan following, its organization and its caliber of makers. Thanks so much for having us! We enjoyed the experience immensely.
[My favorite memory was] All of it! The best run event I’ve been a part of. Customers were happy, vendors were in great spirits, and the volunteers were always around when you needed them. Honored to be a part of the Winter UCU event!
Where do I start?! I had so many favorite moments…Really it’s the connection with other people. I love talking with customers and had so many lovely conversations with them. But this time around I’d have to say that it was the support and connections with the other vendors. Through Urban Craft Uprising I’ve gotten to know quite a few vendors who are now my friends and it just made the show that much more fun to be there with them. Overall it was really an inspiring weekend to be able to be part of such a talented and creative group of people!
My best/worst moment [of the weekend] was the little girl who paid for her purchase with a few quarters and giant pile of dimes. Only bad because it was SO MANY dimes, but so sweet because she had obviously spent all this time thinking about what she wanted and counting all the money out, and she chose to support handmade, and to buy something that I made. <3 <3 <3
This is one of the best shows and your organizational skills are exemplary. You all do such a great job helping new and returning vendors to stay on top of things and be ready for what is always a really great show. We love UCU and are proud and honored to be a part of it!
The families in attendance were my favorite part of the show, as with all family-friendly craft shows! I love engaging with and entertaining infants and small children while their parents browse. It’s super fun to ask kids about their favorite ways to make art and encourage them to keep making. It’s also inspiring to see parents who are genuinely engaged with their kids, having conversations about what they see and guiding them in behaving respectfully towards art objects and other people.
The information you provided leading up to the show was thorough and well organized. I really benefited from and was reassured by the helpful tips in the vendor newsletters. Thank you for running such a well organized and well attended show!
[My favorite moment was] realizing that I have a product that people want. I had customers tell me they came to the show for me. That’s insane! I also heard many customers say they were only buying local handmade this year. The talent of artists at this show is above and beyond. It warms my heart to be around so many creative amazing people.
You guys are the best! It is the best curated craft show around, and everyone in Seattle knows it. We had great sales and a lot of fun with the customers and other vendors. Thanks again for all your hard work and we can’t wait until the winter show!!!
[My favorite memory was the] new milestones! I can’t pick one favorite moment: beating my previous sales record, getting my first wholesale order, being featured on the Design Milk IG page (presumably due to UCU’s promotion), and of course, talking with customers who were purchasing my kits as a means of self-care or self-discovery. It was rewarding to be able to connect my months of creative work with the customers who would ultimately reap the biggest benefits.
