Meet Our Vendor: Unconditional Love
You GUYS! It’s ANOTHER NEW VENDOR! We were excited to see some clothing by Unconditional Love. Everything looks so cozy yet stylish and we think you’ll agree! Gotta love a clothing designer that makes clothing for ALL sizes! Let’s read more about them!
Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Edy! I design and create one-of-a-kind clothing pieces using secondhand materials which are mainly sourced from thrift shops. I’m inspired by the looks of the 1960’s and the 1990’s Riot Grrrl movement. I aim to spread love for ourselves, for others, and for our planet through my work. I am dedicated to giving new life to used materials as well as promoting body positivity through eco-friendly fashion and size-inclusivity!
What was your first memory of making something?
My first memory of making something was a little quilt and pillow set for the family cat when I was about 10 years old. I think I was more impressed than the cat was!
How did you get started in your business?
I got started a few years back when I was working in a bagel shop in Boise, Idaho. I had a boss who was obsessed with hats and she asked me if I could make her some. I bought a Styrofoam head from Sally Beauty and had my first crack at “draping” a pattern, though I had no clue that was what I was doing at the time. I ended up producing a line of hats that I sold in a couple local shops in Boise and on Etsy under the name Jaunty Dapple. Through this I found my love of upcycling and transforming used garments into something new and exciting! The hats evolved into making clothing (my first love) and here we are!
Who’s your biggest fan?
My mother, for sure! She’s the reason I know how to sew in the first place and she’s always encouraged me to be myself and follow my dreams. I’ve always admired her strength and talent, so I guess you could say the feeling is mutual. 🙂 I’m very grateful for her!
What’s your favorite item that you sell?
I love my dresses because they are so comfortable and easy to style. They can be worn by themselves when the weather is nice or as a part of a layered ensemble on chilly days. I’m also super in love with my skirts! They have pockets! I mean, who doesn’t want pockets in their skirt!?
My friends! It’s FRIDAY! What is better than celebrating the end of a week than by entering for your chance to win your very own choice of skirt! Edy is giving away a one-of-a-kind A-line pocketed knit skirt. You’ll have your choice of color/fabric combination and size (XS-2XL) from my in-show stock! WHAT?!?! Go on over to our Instagram for your chance to win!
