Meet Our Vendor: migration goods
If you are a lover of all things cute and adorable, look no further than Migration Goods! We love her whimsical take on everything from toast to matcha and then her own characters. She’s one sweet lady to boot.
Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Eling and I sew small + overly detailed cute things out of felt, and make tiny watercolor paintings of my favorite things, like food and animals and plants.
What’s the latest thing you’ve been working on?
I have been working on both larger, more elaborate sewn pieces, as well as even smaller sewn accessories. I’m also working on making larger paintings!
Any new exciting news you’d like to share with our readers?
We got a puppy at the end of last year, and he takes up so much more of my time than I thought he would 😉 but in migration goods-related dog news, I’m introducing several new dog designs this year! They are some of the most-frequently requested animals, so I am trying very hard to get to the breeds everyone keeps asking me for. Of course, many of these dogs will also appear as or near food.
What is your favorite new product for 2018?
I *really* like the extra fancy brooches & mini clips I’ve been making, like the strawberries, pears & tiny eggs. I’ll have some newer favorites once the summer hits, but those new things are a still a secret right now!
How far will you be traveling to come to UCU?
Google maps says that the fastest route to the Exhibition Hall from our house in Lowell, Massachusetts, is 3,051 miles. Someday we’ll make it a road trip!
