Meet Our Vendor: East Plum
Another NEW VENDOR! It’s so amazing how many new one’s we have this summer! You guys are going to L-O-V-E this show! Say hello to East Plum!
Who are you and what do you do?
Wife to a good ole’ boy. Mama to two girls, one dog, two horses and three barn kitties.
I’m the owner and creator behind East Plum. I make unique wall art, that is designed to inspire. My design style is simple, neutrals and clean lines with Bohemian touches. I like art that can move freely from one room to the next without complicating the aesthetics of the space.
What was your first memory of making something?
Needlepoint when I was maybe 5. My Mom is an incredible quilter/crochet. She would always have little sewing projects for my sister and I when I was a kid. The trouble is, I’m left handed and never could quite pick up the gift of crochet. Luckily with woodworking I don’t have to worry about that!
What do you love most about craft show vending?
Meeting customers! As an online shop, I don’t often get to meet the people who buy my goods. So it’s really fun for me to get to chat with you and find out where in your home these pieces get to live!
Is this a full-time business for you?
This is a tricky question for me, because my brain is almost always in ‘CREATIVE’ mode. But I also have the joy of homeschooling our two girls and working on our small hobby farm. I’ve gotten in the habit of carrying a small notebook so I can jot down a quote or something that inspires me so that I can return to it later. Luckily I’m able to run East Plum on our property so it gives me the flexibility to work unique hours.
Who’s your biggest fan?
Strangely, our dog Gus. He’s a rescue Saint Bernard/Rottweiler and for some reason he gets so excited when I work in the woodshop. He insists on laying under my feet while I stain and paint. And on days when the shop is freezing and it’s raining, he keeps me motivated to get out there!
