Meet Our Vendor: Bird of Virtue
We love the work by Bird of Virtue. She’s a talented lady and makes beautiful jewelry! Would make a great gift and even some stocking stuffers! Let’s hear what she has been up to!
Who are you and what do you do?
Hi! My name is Linnea + I’m the one-lady operation behind Bird of Virtue. I design + my hands make everything!
What’s the latest thing you’ve been working on?
I spent 2 months this year designing an entirely new collection that’s a reflection of a trip I took to Scandinavia last fall with my mother. I used new materials mixed with my classic American hardwoods + I tried to capture the quiet, modern minimalism I absorbed while on the trip.
What was your first memory of making something?
My mama is a master-crafter, so I’ve been making my entire life – however I think my first thing was this seashell plaster of Paris paperweight. Very trés chic 😉
What is your favorite new product for 2018?
I love the entire Nordiska Collection, but I think my favorite design from that collection is probably Erika – because its based off of a small street sculpture I came across while my mom + I were walking around Stocklholm.
How did you get started in your business?
Due to my mom being a professional crafter, I grew up at shows + I’ve been making things + selling them since I was a kid. My first product was Make It + Bake It “stained glass” ornaments + window hangings, then cross-stitched items, Fimo things + I landed on jewelry when I got into high school. That $110 I made at my my first show, got me hooked for a lifetime of crafting 🙂
Who’s your biggest fan?
This one is easy – my mom!
