Hey there! My name is Ingrid and I make backpacks, messenger bags and satchels out of waxed canvas and vintage wools.

How did you get started in your business?
After graduating from Seattle Central’s apparel design & manufacturing program I began working at a small messenger bag company learning everything from sales, product photography and even applique. When they left town, I decided to try something similar and run a company for myself, and several years later here I am!
Is this a full-time business for you?
Wooly Bison is a full-time job, but it hasn’t always been this way. This business is an unpredictable one, and I used to have quite a few contract sewing jobs on the side.
What do your customers love most about your products?
Since I love to recycle wools and incorporate vintage fabric into my designs, almost every bag is unique. People seem to like having a one-of-a-kind bag, or at least one that you don’t see 20 other people with!
