- This is our much-loved bi-annual show held at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall, including a Friday Preview Night for the first 1,500 fans. This show has been a Seattle holiday shopping institution for 14 years, and continues to grow! Our UCU fans plan their holiday shopping around our show year after year, and we love seeing those lines wrapping around the block before doors open!
[My favorite moment was] realizing that I have a product that people want. I had customers tell me they came to the show for me. That’s insane! I also heard many customers say they were only buying local handmade this year. The talent of artists at this show is above and beyond. It warms my heart to be around so many creative amazing people.
[There is] an overall feeling of support and love. I have vended at a lot of shows, and the UCU really cultivates a feeling of camaraderie. This group is so supportive of one another…we want to see us all succeed. It warms my heart to be a part of the UCU <3
It was so magical. I’m still feeling the high from it! I should be exhausted and taking a break but am so full of energy. oh and having volunteers is awesome. I’m often alone at shows and even if some shows have volunteers, they don’t really check in with you as often as UCU volunteers do. they’re GOLD.
We were a first time vendor at UCU and were super impressed with its fan following, its organization and its caliber of makers. Thanks so much for having us! We enjoyed the experience immensely.
This is one of the best shows and your organizational skills are exemplary. You all do such a great job helping new and returning vendors to stay on top of things and be ready for what is always a really great show. We love UCU and are proud and honored to be a part of it!
Now that I have experiences doing other large shows I really appreciate the personal touches and attention UCU crew gives to the vendors. With the emails sharing lots of helpful information organizing the happy hour, having a vendor lounge, free wifi, volunteers for loading and standing in at booths, etc. Makes the whole experience feel so much like a community effort rather than just individually loading, doing the show, and loading out. Great job! UCU is always really fun for me (some shows can be so serious). Please keep it up!! 🙂
Where do I start?! I had so many favorite moments…Really it’s the connection with other people. I love talking with customers and had so many lovely conversations with them. But this time around I’d have to say that it was the support and connections with the other vendors. Through Urban Craft Uprising I’ve gotten to know quite a few vendors who are now my friends and it just made the show that much more fun to be there with them. Overall it was really an inspiring weekend to be able to be part of such a talented and creative group of people!
You guys are the best! It is the best curated craft show around, and everyone in Seattle knows it. We had great sales and a lot of fun with the customers and other vendors. Thanks again for all your hard work and we can’t wait until the winter show!!!
Preview Night was very good for sales. It never felt crowded or slow. Shoppers that came at 5 were very deliberate in purchasing while the late comers had on a good buzz, enjoyed a beer or wine and chatted up a bit more. We love Preview Night and the idea that they get “first dibs” at the show is very important.
I really enjoyed preview night…It was steadily busy for me but not too crazy, so I could enjoy talking to customers more. It was my first holiday show with UCU and although I’ve heard how busy it is I wasn’t fully prepared for how crazy busy the rest of the weekend would be. Saturday especially was kind of a whirlwind. But I have to say that your show is so well run and the volunteers were great. I had some help from friends here and there and my daughter but not a ton. But no matter how crowded it was your volunteers were great at checking in once a while to see if I needed bathroom breaks or anything.
