Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Debra Weiss and I am a fiber artist. I design and make women’s apparel. My inspiration comes from life, creating pieces that can be beautiful, comfortable and timeless. Textiles are my passion and bringing them to life is my joy.
My company is called Rebe, once a nickname for my eldest daughter, Hillery Rebeka Sproatt. As a person and an artist she has enlivened the desire and the courage to start Rebe 13 years ago.
Are you debuting anything new at the winter show?
I am always making new pieces. About every other month I design new styles and every month I change up fabrics in the tried and true styles. I love to keep it changing but will also keep the past styles current that everyone loves.
Is this a full-time business for you?
It is a full time business and I am so blessed to be able to come to different cities throughout the country bringing my pieces to show and sell.
What’s something you’ve learned through running your business in the past 12 months?
Something I have learned from doing my business is to always create from your heart and soul and it will be felt in your product and every thing else you do in life. I will only make things I truly believe in.
What do your customers love most about your products?
I get many compliments from my customers about how wonderful they feel in my clothes and how well they last.
What’s the best experience you’ve ever had with one of your customers?
I have had so many amazing experiences with my customers it is impossible to choose just one. But I love when someone comes up to say how grateful they are for the piece they own of mine and give me a big hug!
