Pinkleton’s Curious Caramel Corn
Who are you and what do you do?
We are PINKLETON’S Curious Caramel Corn! We make the most addictive and deliciously crunchy caramel corn imaginable. Our ingredients are simple, and unparalleled. Organic Oregon butter, Oregon sea salt, cane sugar, air-popped corn… completely non-GMO. Pinkleton’s is a labor-intensive act of love that has to be tasted to be believed. We make just 50 all-natural bags per batch.
What’s the latest thing you’ve been working on?
I’m toying with branching Pinkleton’s out and resurrecting some other classic Victorian-era candies. As well as a line of savory snacking popcorns.
Any new exciting news you’d like to share with our readers?
Stop by Pinkleton’s booth to sample our stuff… Sweet. Salty. Crunchy. Curiously Addictive!
Are you debuting anything new at the winter show?
I might have a ‘show only’ flavor… Shhh!
Is this a full-time business for you?
While this is not a full time business for me yet, I see it moving in that direction rather quickly. It has been quite an exciting year, and I am getting some interest from places I have only ever dreamed of selling. Shhhh!
Where do you see your business in 3 years?
I see Pinkleton’s becoming a small stand-alone candy shop. A location with an attached candy-kitchen where people could come and watch us work, as well as taste a whole slew of wonderful Victorian-inspired sweet, salty, & crunchy treats!
What’s your favorite item that you sell?
My personal favorite flavor is the Salted Molasses. Smokey, crunchy, sweet, buttery, and salty. I can not keep it at home. It vanishes sometime around 3am if I do.
Wait… my favorite is Spicy Mexican Cocoa.
Actually, perhaps it is Orange Cardamom Scotch…
What do your customers love most about your products?
People go crazy for the texture…
What’s the best experience you’ve ever had with one of your customers?
I had a customer take a bag of Salted Vanilla to a fashion shoot he was working on… the owner of a bridal gown company tried some and was hooked. Her company decided to feature me in three cities for their fall season. They ordered 600 bags to give to their customers, as well as putting me into the giftbags for their New York runway show.
