Meet the Vendor: Studio Lola
Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Jenn Tucker and I am the owner and designer of Studio Lola.
Studio Lola fuses an instant sense of nostalgia with a creative conscience for the planet in textile and paper designs that bring joy and comfort to your life and home. Clever new takes on classic imagery are brought to life through a meticulous design process using eco-friendly dyes, organic fabrics, papers and recycled fills that are made in the USA of the highest quality.
What’s the latest thing you’ve been working on?
The latest thing I have been working on is expanding the line to encompass paper goods. I added a card line using my art from the textiles with a bit of an addition that is more applicable to printed verses dyed products.
What was your first memory of making something?
I love this question. My first memory of making something was writing a song at the age of three but as far as something tactile one of my first memories would have to be a hook yarn rug that came in a kit. I am a child of the seventies after all.
Is this a full-time business for you?
At this point in time Studio Lola is my full-time job although I have a couple of part-time jobs to make it all work. I left the world of being a creative director for the graphic design industry a little over a year ago to get back into something more tactile and personal.
Who’s your biggest fan?
In fairness I have two big fans and they are most likely biased but I love them for it. So a huge thanks goes out to my partner in life, Cameron and my sister from another, Denise. Without there support and encouragement this would not be as enjoyable as it is.
What do your customers love most about your product(s)?
I think what customers most like about my product would first be the imagery and then the soft feel of my finished textiles. Since they are dyed and not screen printed there is no texture to the print.
