Meet the Vendor: Nuflours
Who are you and what do you do?
Nuflours was created in 2011 out of the want for delicious baked goods to share with family and friends, regardless of dietary restrictions. Owners and gluten-free themselves, Amanda & Phebe strive to make all their products enjoyable for the gluten free and gluten-full eater. They currently bake out of a commercial kitchen in Lower Queen Anne and serve the greater Seattle area with nutritious yet delicious cookies, cakes, pastries and breads using locally sourced, organic and naturally gluten free ingredients.
Any new exciting news you’d like to share with our readers?
We just opened our first storefront! It opened October 10th and is located on 15th Ave E. in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Hours are Tuesday – Saturday 7am – 6pm & Sunday 8am – 5pm (closed on Mondays). Come enjoy some of our new savory breakfast products, like quiche or spinach feta handpies.
What is your favorite new product for 2014?
We’re excited to debut our “take & bake” hostest gift at UCU this year. A beautiful glass jar, filled with all the dry ingredients needed to make perfect gluten free cookies yourself. Kit includes instructions and two gingerbread people cookie cutters.
What do your customers love most about your product(s)?
Our customers love tricking their gluten-full friends with our products. We’ve heard stories of our brownies or pumpkin tea cakes delighting even the harshest of critics.
What’s the best experience you’ve ever had with one of your customers?
We see the biggest smiles around! We often get the question, “what do you have that is gluten free?” Our answer is always the same, “Everything! Everything here is gluten free.” As fast as the words can come out of our mouth, the customer’s eyes brighten up with a huge grin as they peruse through our selection. Then, they walk away with a treat and a warm, happy heart. These encounters and other stories of how our work helps people, makes us so happy every day!
