Meet our Vendor: N.D. Byma
We are so excited to introduce you to new vendor, N.D. Byma!
Who are you and what do you do?
Hi! My name is N.D Byma and I am children’s author from Beaverton, Oregon. I write books to inspire and entertain all of my readers young and old. With each story I create, my goal is to weave an engaging tale that speaks to the reader through vibrant pictures, concise storytelling and a subtle moral designed to tell the reader that they are special just how they are.
Any new exciting news you’d like to share with our readers?
Absolutely! I am incredibly excited to announce that my fourth book The Rock that Rolled Across the Ocean has received a 5 star review from national reviewing organization Readers’ Favorite! Each of my books has now received this honor as well as numerous other glowing reviews and I could not be more humbled by the kind words!
How far will you be traveling to come to UCU?
I’m driving from Beaverton, Oregon which is just west of Portland. It’s a drive I’ve made many times in the past but not for book events. I’m excited to share my books with the fine people of Seattle!
How did you get started in your business?
A fluke really. I wanted to write one book to knock it off my bucket list but then fate intervened and I found myself across the bar from an incredibly successful children’s author. As this person and I talked, he read my book – which I only had with me by chance – and he told me that I was really onto something with my other ideas and to keep writing no matter what; so I did.
Who’s your biggest fan?
My son, hands down. He inspired me to create my first book King Boogie and has cheered me on through every step of every book since then. He loves the stories, gives me fantastic advice (for a 6 year old) and constantly pushes me to continue writing no matter how tough the road may get.
