Meet Our Vendor: Molly Muriel Apothecary
We are so glad to have Molly Muriel Apothecary back to our show! We love a good story about a hobby turning into a full fledged business with a brick & mortar shop to boot! Go Molly! Read on to learn about this small business lady and her empire.
Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Branda Tiffany and I live in Portland, OR. I make all natural bath and body products such as soaps, lotions, bath oils, candles, lip balms, and bath soaks. I’ve been making products for over 20 years, and started this business 15 years ago. My goal is to replace all the chemicals out there with natural ingredients!
What was your first memory of making something?
The first thing I made was a candle. I took a candle making workshop in 1995 while living in Seattle, and that’s when the fun began. My product line includes much more than candles, but I now offer candle workshops in my studio to those with the curiosity for craft!
What do you love most about craft show vending?
I love being able to meet and talk to the people buying my products. As a wholesaler, I don’t always get that opportunity, so craft shows really give me that experience that is so important! I love seeing reactions when someone picks up a bar of soap and smells it.
Is this a full-time business for you?
This is more than a full-time business. I have evolved to having a storefront attached to my production facility. The retail store is a full apothecary, I sell medicinal herbs, teas, herbal supplements, plants, and of course my whole line of products, which are made in house. It’s quite a fun operation!
What’s your favorite item that you sell?
My favorite item at this moment is my Forest & Lava Bath Soak. It is a blend of salts, clays, and essential oils, so it softens the skin while giving you the wonderful aromatherapy treatment that I love. This time of year I love soaking in a hot bath full of lovely scents right before bed, it really takes me down a notch and helps me sleep!
