Meet Our Vendor: Green Grin
The work by Green Grin really does make us do a happy dance and you will too!
Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Beth and I live on a little farm in the misty hills of NW Oregon. I keep myself gainfully employed by sewing cute li’l plushies and handwarmers via my business Green Grin
What’s the latest thing you’ve been working on?
These days it’s all about cranking out quality hand-made goods for my retail outlets and craft shows!
What is your favorite new product for 2017?
I’m always trying out new versions of my smallest softie, the WeeKinnies. This year I’ve come up with little leaf-shaped cashmere beds for them. Adorable and super soft!
How did you get started in your business?
I started out making clothing,. Customers at an herbal conference in California were so enthusiastic about my wares that I figured I’d make a go of creating a business selling my work. Being a thrifty type & not wanting to throw anything away, I soon had a massive collection of fabric scraps. Making use of these scraps lead to the development of my Mitts for Musing Hand-warmers, which are still the backbone of my business. One day I was fooling around in my studio and I made a cute softie based on a sock-animal. I instantly became hooked on making 3-dimensional soft sculptures, and it was another way to use up scraps! Embroidering those cute little faces is addictive =^.^= ! These days all of my products are sewn using upcycled wool & cashmere sweaters, and other recycled textiles.
What’s the best experience you’ve ever had with one of your customers?
The happy dances always make my day!
