Meet Our Vendor: Couch Guitar Straps
Who are you and what do you do?
We make guitar straps, camera straps, and wallets out of vintage and new automotive and upholstery vinyl.
What’s the latest thing you’ve been working on?
We have been working on mens dopp kits upcycled from vintage used military issue duffle bags. Some of the fabric even has the name and rank of the soldier printed on it!
Any new exciting news you’d like to share with our readers?
We just acquired 10,000 yards, that’s about 500 rolls of vintage vinyl and fabric over the summer from an old warehouse that was closing down. We’re really excited for the future possibilities of colors and and options we’ll have as we continue to make new stuff.
Is this a full-time business for you?
We are a full time business with 7 of us that work here. We have tons of really cool machines, new, old and vintage that we use to make our stuff.
What’s your favorite item that you sell?
I love our guitar straps. It’s the first thing we ever made in 1999. It took us years to work on a combination of design and production to get the world best built, strongest vegan guitar strap out of upcycled materials and it’s just so fun to keep making new versions of it each day here at Couch.
What do your customers love most about your product(s)?
Our customers seem to love our idea and our concept, but they also tell us they love our price. Most of our stuff is in the $20-50 dollar price range which is often the perfect amount to spend on a nice gift for a friend or yourself.
