Meet the Vendor: woven
Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Kim Nemeth. I’m a self-taught weaver living and working in Walla Walla, WA. I make limited edition handwoven wearables and household goods for men and women.
What’s the latest thing you’ve been working on?
Ponchos! I’ve been working on the design and pattern for awhile and am so excited to have them available this fall!
How far will you be traveling to come to UCU?
262 miles, roughly
What do you love most about craft show vending?
Meeting and talking with customers and other vendors. I love getting to know their interests and how they got started and run their businesses. Meeting customers and seeing people interact with my work is so fun and I learn so much from talking with them.
What’s something you’ve learned through running your business in the past 12 months?
That when you have a small handcrafting business, growth isn’t linear and that’s OK. There are periods of time when so much is happening and coming together and it’s really exciting, and then there are lulls. Learning how to balance the ups and downs is just part of the deal.
