Who are you and what do you do?
We make hand-crafted Argentine-style empanadas, sold baked or frozen. We also make chimichurri salsa and dulce de leche; and we sell our pastry shells so people can make their own empanadas at home without the hassle of making the dough, by far the hardest part!
Any new exciting news you’d like to share with our readers?
Metropolitan Market is selling five varieties of our empanadas in their Proctor store in Tacoma.
How did you get started in your business?
My daughter lived in Argentina a few years ago. When she came home she brought a boyfriend who was an Argentine chef. He made empanadas for us and they were so good we immediately decided we should sell them!
What’s something you’ve learned through running your business in the past 12 months?
You MUST love your product. Running a small business is hard work, and some of it is tedious and repetitive (bookkeeping, shopping, cleaning, loading and unloading trucks). So you need the reward of admiring your product every time you look at it (or, in my business, taste it!).
What do your customers love most about your product(s)?
The flaky pastry is our differentiating feature.
