Meet the Vendor: Molly Muriel
Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Branda and I am the owner/creator of Molly Muriel natural products. We create healthy products for you and your home, such as soaps, lotions, candles, bath & body oils, lip balms, and bath bombs.
Any new exciting news you’d like to share with our readers?
I just signed the lease and took over the space next door to my retail/production facility, we we’ll be doubling in size. We’re super excited to be able to have a workspace that can offer classes on natural product making now. It should be open in June or July!
What was your first memory of making something?
At the age of 21, I had just moved to Seattle, and on a whim decided to take a candle making class. It was held at a place in Ballard called Pourette, which is no longer around. The class was basically a demonstration so I just watched as the candles were being made. However, I left with all the supplies I needed to make some at home, and that night began my adventure which has lasted over two decades now, and led to the business I have created.
Is this a full-time business for you?
This is a more than full time business for me, as well as a part time job for three other people. As our retail and production facilities expand in the coming months, I plan to hire another person or expand the hours of my existing employees.
Where do you see your business in 3 years?
In three years I plan to have my retail shop bustling a bit more than it is. We’re in an up-and-coming area just south of Portland and many small businesses are starting to move into the downtown Milwaukie area where we are. I see many classes going on in our “workshop” and a busy wholesale business. I also see continuing with UCU, traveling to awesome craft shows is my favorite part of the business!
Thanks, Branda! See you at the summer show.
