Meet the Vendor: field day
Who are you and what do you do?
By definition I would say I am a dreamer. I love to use my minds eye to think of new ideas, designs and insights. Designing and making clothing has been a passion for over 10 years. Gardening and tending honey bees bring me great joy.
What’s the latest thing you’ve been working on?
The perfect length wrap skirt with big pockets. Belt loops for a vintage feel with bright bold modern fabrics.
What is your favorite new product for 2015?
We just released the Mazy Dress at the bringing of spring and it has been a huge hit! We like to make things as adjustable as possible so everyone gets their perfect fit. Nice big pockets that feel like you are hugging yourself when in use. Big circle twirling skirt, gathered v waistline and adjustable straps. This dress can be worn for so many accessions. My favorite is pulling weeds in the garden or a hike in the woods.
How far will you be traveling to come to UCU?
We will be coming form Oakland CA in our Warrior. The Warrior is a 91′ Toyota motorhome that we gutted and rebuilt in to a traveling boutique. It houses our clothing line and us while we are on the road. The Warrior has been on so many adventures and loves in in the NW!
What do you love most about craft show vending?
The trades! I love trading with other vendors. We love to pick up new products for our handmade boutique in Oakland CA. We carry a bunch of UCU vendors and enjoy spreading the love and creativity. We always end up coming back with big boxes of handmade products for our shop. www.fielddayandfriends.com.
What’s your favorite item that you sell?
Our sheet dress is our signature style and most beloved design. Made from reclaimed bed sheets, some are dyed and some are perfect as is. They are smocked on the back waist to make room for breathing or a big meal. We believe you must feel beautiful to look beautiful. They feature our signature pockets and vintage brass buttons, with an optional flip down lapel, and are easy to wash. We get so much feedback about this being our customers most favorite dress. I personally wear a sheet dress at least 3 days a week.
