Meet the Vendor: Factory 43
Who are you and what do you do?
Located in Seattle, Washington, Factory 43 hand-forges quality graphic goods – including t-shirts,screen-printed posters, and letterpress cards. Our unique illustrations mix hand-inked drawings and collage elements. Factory 43 is comprised of Andrew Saeger and Veronica Velasco, who met while working in the art department of the now defunct Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Our shared passion for design and love of hand-printed objects led us to found Factory 43.
What’s the latest thing you’ve been working on?
We’re constantly working on new designs. For winter, we’re making some companions for our popular lion print and shirt. And we’re hoping to make some screen-printed wrapping paper for the first time.
What is your favorite new product for 2015?
Our most popular product this year by far has been our Seattle Seabird shirts and sweaters. It’s the perfect gift for the football obsessed. Go ‘Hawks!
What do you love most about craft show vending?
We love seeing people react to our work and getting instant feedback. It’s something you don’t get through online sales or wholesale orders.
Is this a full-time business for you?
Andrew quit his design job to work on Factory 43 full-time in February.
What do your customers love most about your product(s)?
Our customers love our artwork, but I think they really connect with our sense of humor. We love having people come into our booth and just start laughing.
